What is Mercier Therapy for fertility?

Updated: Jul 21

Mercier therapy is a specific type of bodywork that has shown promising results in studies related to fertility. Abdominal massage is our main focus at Rebirth. We are dedicated to providing top-notch care and keeping ourselves informed about the newest research and methods for womb care and abdominal massage.

We are excited to announce the addition of another certification to our credentials!

Mercier Therapy is an external pelvic visceral manipulation technique that is safe and gentle, aiming to enhance pelvic health and well-being by addressing scar tissue, adhesions, malalignment, or reduced mobility in the pelvic and reproductive structures. This therapy offers an inclusive and thorough solution for various pelvic concerns in women of all age groups.

Mercier Therapy aims to enhance mobility and improve blood circulation to the pelvic organs, thus enhancing their functionality. It can be utilized independently or in conjunction with other assisted reproductive technology methods like IUI or IVF.

Our holistic approach can assist you in optimizing your fertility, whether you are getting ready for pregnancy or facing fertility difficulties.

In September 2012, Mercier Therapy completed a four-year, evidence-based research study, revealing an 83 percent success rate in achieving pregnancy. The abstract titled “Mercier Therapy Helps Infertile Women Get Pregnant” was featured in the Spring 2013 issue of Midwifery Today.

Mercier Therapy just published the latest five-year study in January 2019 indicating an 87.7 percent pregnancy success rate when women have undergone Mercier Therapy prior to starting IVF stimulation. The abstract, “Mercier Therapy Improves IVF Outcomes” was published in the Winter 2018 edition of Midwifery Today.

To obtain these impressive outcomes, we are providing the particular model used in the study mentioned above.

The Mercier Therapy protocol consists of six one-hour sessions scheduled over a period of 1 to 6 weeks, focusing on the abdomen to release organ restrictions. Mercier Therapy can be utilized independently or as a preparation for a medically assisted cycle like IUI or IVF.

With more than 15 years of experience in abdominal massage, introducing Mercier therapy will greatly enhance our range of techniques. We are in the process of launching a new blog that will delve into the distinctions between maya abdominal massage and Mercier therapy.

Please message us to get on the waitlist for Mercier Therapy!
